"The religion of us Qādirī servants is the same religion as that of Shaykh ʿAbd al-Qādir al-Jīlānī. My bequest (waṣiyyah) is that you all stay firm upon it and in particular this bequest is also to my murīds.

In my travels, on many occasions, I have relayed this bequest of mine to people. As I am now almost constrained from reading and writing, I ordered and requested that this bequest of mine be transcribed – that those who are part of the silsila ʿāliyyah nūriyyah riḍawiyyah qādiriyyah barkātiyyah through me, they must remain firm upon the methodology (maslak) of the Ahl al-Sunnah, the methodology of Ālāḥazrat and the methodology of al-Gawth al-Aʿẓam.

A person is only my murīd if he is firm upon this methodology. The one who has deviated from this methodology, he is not my murīd. This bequest of mine is also for my children and my family members.

From my family, the family of Ālāḥazrat, whomsoever you find firm upon this methodology, follow them and support them. And, Allāh forbid, if a person from the family of Ālāḥazrat deviates from the methodology of Ālāḥazrat, the methodology of al-Gawth al-Aʿẓam, the methodology of the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ and this religion, then do not look at the fact that he is from the family of Ālāḥazrat. Instead, you need to look after your own religion. This is my bequest and this is my advice (naṣīḥah).

Allāh give me and you all the ability to stay firm upon this truthful religion."

Transcribed from a speech by our master, the rightful heir of Imām Ahl al-Sunnah Imām Aḥmad Riḍā, the Grand Muftī of India, Tāj al-Sharīʿah Muftī Akhtar Riḍā Khān – Allāh have mercy on him, elevate his station further and grant us the ability to follow his bequest and advice.

Translator’s note: the methodology (maslak) of the Ahl al-Sunnah, the methodology of Ālāḥazrat and the methodology of al-Gawth al-Aʿẓam are one and the same. Various names are given to the methodology of the Ahl al-Sunnah in order to distinguish the truthful methodology during different eras and in different parts of the world.

Prioritise Deen over Dunya

Speeches are beneficial and I do not say that religious gatherings are not beneficial, they are also very beneficial. However, in religious gatherings, you are only spoken to for a short period in an oratory manner - you remember some things and forget others - it is your responsibility that you sit in the company of your local Ulama and learn the correct Aqeedah of the Ahlus Sunnah wal Jama’ah from them, and alongside that, educate yourselves on the rulings pertaining to the fundamental aspects of the Deen (Dharooriyat e Deen).

People are busy with earning [the rewards of] the Dunya. You should not dedicate yourselves to the Dunya, as Muslims were not created for the Dunya, rather the Dunya was created for the Muslims - this whole Dunya was created for the Muslims for the sake of the Prophet ﷺ. Allah says in the Qur’an سَخَّرَ لَكُمُ - Allah has subdued everything for you.

So you were not created for the Dunya, you were created for the Deen. Whatever portion of the Dunya Allah has assigned for you, you will definitely receive it: don’t forget that. BUT, at every moment, you should think about the hereafter (akhirah).
وَابْتَغِ فِيمَا آتَاكَ اللَّـهُ الدَّارَ الْآخِرَةَ ۖ وَلَا تَنسَ نَصِيبَكَ مِنَ الدُّنْيَا

“And seek the abode of the Hereafter with the wealth that Allah has given you, and do not forget your part in this world” (Holy Qur'an) - And stay steadfast on the straight path (Siraat e Mustaqeem), which is the Deen of the Beloved Prophet ﷺ, the Deen of the Awliyah, the Deen of Huzur Ghawth e Azam, the Maslak and Deen of Ala Hazrat - for us this is [the means to] great success.

The Message of Sayyidī Tājush Sharīʿah to the Muslim Ummah
Urs e Razvī 1437/2015

  1. At this moment in time, countless religious tribulations have arisen. The safety of your Īmān (faith) and ʿAqīdah (creed) is only in keeping yourselves away from them. Therefore, separate yourselves from such institutions, movements and organisations that are taking you towards free thinking1 and Sulḥ-kulliyat2.
  2. Affiliate yourselves with those scholars and Imāms, khanqahs and madrasas that are propagators and epitomes of the Truthful Methodology, Ahl al-Sunnat wa al-Jamā’at – Maslak e Alā Ḥazrat.
  3. He who deviates from the statements of the Imāms openly, particularly those of Alā Ḥazrat, is not a reliable and reputable scholar or Muftī. Do not consult such people in matters related to the Sharīʿah and do not rely upon them.
  4. In non-essential matters, it is neither beneficial for the masses nor the elite to express avid interest in them. Thus, refrain from getting involved in such matters.
  5. Disseminate and circulate books that have been written on Īmān and ʿAqīdah and on reforming society (iṣlāḥ e muʿāsharah); especially the works of Alā Ḥazrat. On occasions of Īṣāl e Thawāb, along with preparation of food, arrange for books to be distributed as much as is possible.
  6. In urs events of the pious and in Mīlād Sharīf gatherings, propagate the accurate teachings of Islām by distributing religious pamphlets, monographs and books.
  7. Keep yourselves away from all movements and organisations bearing Wahhabī-Deobandī ideologies, particularly Daesh, Tālibān etc. and inform especially non-Muslims that such organisations are not Muslim organisations, and neither are their actions in accordance with the true teachings of Islām.
  8. Act according to the edicts issued by the Sharʿī Council of India, Bareilly Sharif, which is the organisation of reputable Muftīs and jurists of Ahl al-Sunnat.
  9. Students in religious institutes should not become scholars of the religion solely for the purposes of acquiring a job, but rather with the passion of serving the religion, and after equipping themselves with the necessary qualities for propagation, they should begin propagating.
  10. Honourable Imāms should arrange weekly seminars on the Qur’ān, Ḥadīth and Fiqhī rulings in their respective Masājid, and they should supervise their community vigilantly, so that no deviant can corrupt the ʿAqā’id of the Ahl al-Sunnat.
  11. Inform your children about Ḥussām al-Ḥarmayn3, al-Ṣawārim al-Hindiyyah4 and other books on the ʿAqā’id of Ahl al-Sunnat, and certainly keep these books in your homes.
  12. The Markaz of Ahl al-Sunnat, Bareilly Sharīf, and the teachings of the Imām of Ahl al- Sunnat, Alā Ḥazrat, are a mighty stronghold for the protection of your Īmān and ʿAqīdah. There are many dangers in leaving this fort.
    The jungle is deserted, the night is dark, the black clouds are overshadowing;
O those with gold! Stay awake, for thieves are wandering.
  13. Those speakers and lecturers who deride the Sharīʿah and scholars in private gatherings or openly on a stage, and those who support such criminals – isolate yourselves from all of them; do not invite such speakers and do not listen to their speeches.
  14. Stay in touch with scholars and Imāms who are true followers of Ahl al-Sunnat and consult them regarding your religious matters.
  15. Students studying in colleges and universities should frequently study the translation of the Qur’ān, Kanz al-Īmān5; Tamhīd e Īmān6; Buzurgo key Aqīdey7 and Jā’ al-Ḥaqq8.

Message to Muslims about ISIS

Published in Wahaabism

On the 1st of March, we came across an English article regarding a conference that was held in Dehli. From it we found out many things about the conference, and that is judging this document from a positive perspective. Additionally in this document, the writer has repeatedly mentioned Huzoor Tajush Shari’ah (Allah preserve him) and has held him accountable for many such things that he was unaware of. The writer himself has admitted that the attendance of Huzoor Tajush Shari’ah was not confirmed. The writer revealed through his document the supposed motive of Mawlana Shahabuddin and Mawlana Shu’ayb Raza behind organising the conference. We are unaware of what the real situation actually is.

The attendance of the scholars of Ahl al-Sunnah was solely upon the basis that it is a Sunni conference. They fully refuted Sulh-kulliyat and persuaded the public to stay firm upon the methodology [Maslak] of Ahl e Sunnat Wa Jama’at. Huzoor Tajush Shari’ah, briefly in a few words, also placed emphasis on abstaining from Sulh-kulliyat and expressed his unawareness too. Regarding the motives of the conference the writer has expressed, it is his duty that instead of placing the responsibility on someone else, he should find out about the situation from those who he has mentioned.

Shaykh Mahmood Affendi has reached that phase in life where one cannot ask him anything. The one close to him, Shaykh Jabbali has expressed his hatred towards Qasim Nanotwi and other Deobandis, and he has expressed his agreement and devotion with A’la Hazrat in creed [Aqa’id]. Thus whatever the writer has penned regarding Shaykh Mahmood Affendi, from it there can be no accusation levelled against Huzoor Tajush Shari’ah. Moreover, Shaykh Mahmood Affendi is unaware of the disbeliefs [Kufriyat] of the Deobandis, as we have learned from his close student. Additionally, the exegesis [Tafsir] mentioned, neither we nor our Shaykh has seen it. If the writer wishes, in this regard, to take up the matter by investigating, then he should contact the followers of Shaykh Mahmood Affendi present in Turkey, and if he desires to express hatred from his heart through fictitious words, he is free and may say whatever he wishes.

Another important point is that there was no plan whatsoever to call Huzoor Tajush Shari’ah a Mujaddid.

An additional responsibility upon the writer is that he should ask the organisers why they included the names of those who would not be able to attend.

By a humble mureed and servant of Sayyidi Tajush Shari’ah.

Question:

It is the Urs Sharif of Mujahid e Millat Hazrat Mawlana Habeebur Rahman Sahib ‘Alayhir Rahmah on 6 Jamad al-Ula and of Hazrat Mawlana Wasi Ahmad Muhaddith Surati ‘Alayhir Rahmah on 7 Jamad al-Ula. Can Hazrat share some words regarding the life and roles, and the services to Ahlus Sunnah of these luminaries, jazak-Allahu khayran.

Answer:

Their services do not require explanation, and their elevated stations are beyond words. Mujahid e Millat was as is his title – Mujahid e Millat (Striver for the Nation), and he received the benevolence of the knowledge and the honour of studentship of A’la Hazrat Azeemul Barakat radiy-Allahu Ta’ala ‘anhu through Sadrush Shari’ah Hazrat Mawlana Amjad ‘Ali Qadiri Razawi Barakaati. And he was initiated into the spiritual chain of A’la Hazrat through Huzur Hujjatul Islam, my paternal grandfather. And it can be said without exaggeration that he was fana (annihilated) in his love for Huzur Hujjatul Islam. He would speak of Huzur Hujjatul Islam all the time. And he was the epitome of humility, extremely simple in dress, and he had a very modest disposition. None could deduce from his attire that he was a great ‘Alim – he would live like normal people, but he had a great place in the hearts of the public and the ‘Ulama of Ahlus Sunnah wal Jama’ah. And he truly strived for the nation (millat), for the people and for the Deen, and he upheld the truth and disproved falsehood domestically and in foreign lands, and he endured difficulties because of it. And I have heard of an incident: there is a custom of rickshaws in Bareilly Sharif. He sat in a rickshaw, coming out of the Saudagaran street. He asked the driver for his name. Coincidentally, the driver said his name was Hamid Raza. Mujahid e Millat gave the driver money and said, “I have made a big mistake.” The driver was left perplexed, and after insisting, Mujahid e Millat explained, “This is the name of my Peer, I cannot sit in this.”

And Hazrat Wasi Ahmad Muhaddith Surati Rahmatullahi Ta’ala ‘Alayh was the teacher of Sadrush Shari’ah and of the students of Sadrush Shari’ah; and he was an eminent ‘Alim of Ahlus Sunnah. And he was the very Muhaddith e Surati who spread the science of Hadith in India. And his students include the likes of Sadrush Shari’ah in eminence and diligence. And he was a peer of A’la Hazrat Azeemul Barakat radiy-Allahu Ta’ala ‘anhu and was very inspired by him.

Wazeefah to help wake up for Fajr Salah

Question:

Please provide a Wazeefah (litany) or action that will help one wake up for Fajr Salah.

Answer:

Recite Durud Shareef in abundance, recite Ayat al-Kursi and recite the last verses of Surah Kahf [Verses 107-110]:

Recite this and go to sleep. In sha' Allah one will wake up for Fajr Salah.

Transcribed from a speech by Sayyidi Taajush Shari'ah - Listen to the inspiring and powerful speech here

Quick Links to Particular Points:

The Prophet ﷺ is alive
Unity with Deviants & Ikthilaaf from Ala Hazrat
Is Maslak e Ala Hazrat only pertaining to Aqaaid?
Refuting the usage of TV/Video
Who is qualified to differ in opinion?

Now what should I say? Mawlana Shu’ayb has spoken very well about Maslak e A’la Hazrat, and A’la Hazrat and Huzur Mufti e Azam e Hind, Huzur Hujjatul Islam, and the predecessors from the family of A’la Hazrat, particularly in regard to Maslak e A’la Hazrat. Take away from it what he said about me. I am nothing, and I say no-one is anything; whatever we are, it is due to following Imam e Ahl e Sunnat wa Jama’at and our dignity and respect is due to steadfastness upon his Maslak. If this does not exist, then there is nothing. And everyone’s links are fixed with A’la Hazrat’s links. And they are themselves attached to Ghawth e A’zam and the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ. He himself has stated:

بے نشانوں کا نشان مٹتا نہیں
مٹتے مٹتے نام ہو ہی جائیگا

The sign of those without a sign does not perish
While perishing, their name will be made

And what is Maslak e A’la Hazrat? What is the way of the people of Bareilly? Wanting Haqq, speaking Haqq, standing firm upon Haqq, staying firm on Haqq, and walking upon Haqq and preaching to others to walk upon what is Haqq. And there is no concession for anyone concerning matters of Haqq. This is the way of Bareilly.

Mawlana Shu’ayb delivered a very good speech, and he showed you in regard to the life of the Prophet ﷺ. The Prophet ﷺ was alive and is alive. Now, the point about the two lives is that when he ﷺ was present in the dunya, it is called Hayat e Zahiri (apparent life), from the aspect that his life was apparent in front of our eyes. Now he ﷺ has departed from the dunya he ﷺ is in his illuminated tomb, it is not that it is not true life. It is true life, haqeeqi (real), ruhani (spiritual), jismani (physical). His life is Zahiri from those regards, and it is Zahiri according to many Awliya’ and Mukashifeen. Imam e Ahl e Sunnat has stated it like so:

تو زندہ ہے والله تو زندہ ہے والله
مرے چشم عالم سے چهپ جانے والے

You are alive, by Allah! You are alive!
O the one veiled from my physical sight

Now those who cannot see with their impaired sight, it is regarded as Hayat e Batini (internal), Haqeeqi, Ruhani, Jismani. His life is greater than the lives of everyone who is alive.

انبیا کو بهی اجل آنی ہے
مگر ایسی کہ فقط آنی ہے

Death will come to Prophets too
But such that is only momentary

And Mawlana Shu’ayb has raised many points. And in this regard, he has said many things that are true per se.

الحقُّ مُرٌّ ولو كان دُرّا

The truth is bitter for many people, even though they are pearls.

Ikhtilaf with A’la Hazrat today is the illness of this era. 20, 30, 15 years ago, in India or as far as I have knowledge of, there was no-one who talked about doing ikhtilaf with A’la Hazrat. There were some in Pakistan but they were suppressed. Now, this slogan and these words, about Ikhtilaf are heard here and there.

You have heard the explanation of Maslak e A’la Hazrat. And clear distinction between truth and falsehood is a significant part of Maslak e A’la Hazrat. A’la Hazrat spent his entire life and showed with his books, with his Fatawa and with his actions that a believer, who is the servant of the Messenger ﷺ, and a kafir, who rejects the Messenger ﷺ; Iman and kufr; a Mu’min and a kafir, heretics and Sunni; deobandi, wahabi and Sunni cannot be together. A’la Hazrat RadiyAllahu ‘Anhu emphasised upon this and showed in his poetry and all of his teachings that there can be no unity between Sunnis and ghayr-Sunnis. Today, talks of unity are done with great force and enthusiasm. Unity between Sunnis and ghayr-Sunnis, Sunnis and deobandis wahabis is being celebrated in a practical way. And some movements and organisations are active in this regard. There is Ittihad e Millat, there is Ulama Council. And in some places there is the slogan:

لا سنية ولا شيعية اسلامية اسلامية

No Sunni, No shi’i
Only Islam, only Islam

And some who claim to be on Maslak e A’la Hazrat also take part in this slogan, and they form Ulama Council, they establish Ittihad e Millat. And they aim to unite Sunnis and ghayr-Sunnis. Those who have ikhtilaf, from whom the voice of ikhtilaf comes, have some motives. Those who wish to unite Sunnis and ghayr-Sunnis also say that ikhtilaf with A’la Hazrat can be done. The world can be thrown up, the sky can break and it will break, the earth can break and it will break, Qiyamah will come, however, there can be no unity between Sunnis and ghayr-Sunnis. Whoever conducts this unity, whoever claims this unity, and he who said, “One will not be asked about Maslak in the grave” has lost his Iman, he will lose his identity.

الأمور بمقاصدها
All matters are as per their objectives

Some talk about ikhtilaf for this purpose [to bring Sunnis and ghayr-Sunnis together]

Some speak about ikhtilaf in Furu’ and say, “Maslak pertains only to ‘Aqa’id.” Maslak e A’la Hazrat is not simply ‘Aqa’id. Just as it is the name of ‘Aqa’id, the name of the practices of Ahl e Sunnat is Maslak e A’la Hazrat. And like this, Maslak e A’la Hazrat is not only the name of ‘Aqa’id and practices, rather Maslak e A’la Hazrat is the name of true followers of the A’immah and true Hanafiyyah. He who is truly and firmly Hanafi is the one who is the upholder and bearer of Maslak e A’la Hazrat. Maslak e A’la Hazrat is the identity of Hanafis. Now, he who has to fulfil the desires of his nafs, and these desires of the nafs are not being fulfilled, such as in the issue of TV, the slogan to do ikhtilaf is being exclaimed, and he does not care about the ruling in which he is doing ikhtilaf. Before A’la Hazrat, the ruling that has remained Ijma’i since the time of the Prophet ﷺ to the time of Imam al-Shami, no-one said it was ikhtilafi. Now, whether it is an attari, an individual of Dawat e Islami or an individual of Sunni Dawat e Islami, he cannot do ikhtilaf in the issue of TV - his ikhtilaf is thrown back in his face.

Before today, no Sunni considered cinema permissible. And how will an ‘Alim consider it permissible? Cinema is such an ugly, bad, foul, disgusting thing that those who watched it hid from people. They hid from those who recognised them, from their elders and from their friends. If they would come out of the cinema and we would be coming from the other way, they would turn and walk in a different direction, go into an alley, so be it not that their friend sees them coming out of a cinema. Cinema was considered to be such a foul and disgusting thing, those with sound intellect consider it foul and disgusting even today. Now there is the organisation which exclaimed “Trash the shaytan! Trash the shaytan!” and broke so many TVs; what sort of Nasikh [abrogation] has Ilyas Qadiri found today? What sort of Nasikh has Dawat e Islami found that they talk about Nasikh Mansukh and TV has become permissible, rather, not only permissible but they now keep laptops in the Masjid.

Cinema has not been declared permissible by anyone except mawdudi. Mawdudi’s slogan and mawdudi’s discussion is so elevated that people who claim to be on Maslak e A’la Hazrat, people who take the name of Maslak e A’la Hazrat, people who claim to be Sunni are declaring cinema permissible, and they are joining their voices to the voice of mawdudi and making a mockery and spectacle of the Deen. This is with some excuse that religious programs are shown on it so it will become permissible. In the recent past, the time of Huzur Mufti e A’zam e Hind is not that far gone yet. Many people saw Huzur e Mufti e A’zam e Hind. When the film Khana e Khuda came out, people attacked cinemas, damaged cinemas and set fire to cinemas. Huzur e Mufti e A’zam e Hind issued the Fatwa that making a spectacle of the Deen is not permissible. Today, the consequence of these Fatawa and these licenses is that the cinema has now reached not only every home but cinema has come into Masajid and a mockery of the Deen has been made. Those who do ikhtilaf, the results of such ikhtilaf of theirs are that they are doing ikhtilaf in Ijma’i matters, and they are making Ijma’i matters ikhtilafi. The ikhtilaf of those who breach the Ijma’ (consensus) of Muslims is thrown back in their faces. Nothing of Maslak e A’la Hazrat shall be ruined and nothing of A’la Hazrat shall be ruined. He who breaches it will himself be determined to be against Maslak e A’la Hazrat. And there are some people who have to fulfil their whims and act upon leniency. A’la Hazrat has maintained the identity of true Hanafiyyah. The ‘Ulama’ have settled the issue that you are performing Taqleed of Imam e A’zam. The method of Taqleed is that [you] bow your head [and follow blindly]. We are not on the station that was the station of Imam e A’zam. He was a Mujtahid. Leave Imam e A’zam, we are not of the rank of Imam Muhammad and Imam Abu Yusuf who were Mujtahids fi al-Madhhab. And even below them, going far down from them, we are not even on the station that [we know] which qawl (statement) is sahih (correct), which is da’eef (weak), which is rajih (preferred), which is marjooh (preferred over). We do not have the capacity to determine this. 500 years ago, Imam ‘Ala’ al-Din Haskafi settled the matter that:

أما نحن فعلينا اتباع ما صححوه وما رجحوه كما لو افتونا في حياتهم

Such unprincipled people who do not have the capacity to distinguish between sahih and da’eef - who are merely Muqallids - it is binding upon them to act upon those aqwal that have been declared sahih by their Masha’ikh; let alone issuing Fatawa against it, to act against that oneself is not permissible.

Those who speak of ikhtilaf are such that they are doing ikhtilaf for the whims of their nafs. And I have shown that this ikhtilaf is not with A’la Hazrat but it is ikhtilaf with Sunniyyah in some cases; with Ijma’ of the Ummah in some cases; and it is simply following one’s whims in some cases.

These are the motives and reasons to give the concessions to act upon and to obtain leniency from those aqwal which the A’immah of the Madhhab have declared marjooh and issued a Fatwa that acting upon them is haram and breaching Ijma’. So the consequences of ikhtilaf with A’la Hazrat will be that there will be unity between Sunnis and ghayr-Sunnis, or it will be violating Ijma’ of Muslims, or it will be washing one’s hands of Taqleed, even if that may be a partial manner, and taking on the habit of ghayr-Muqallids. It is necessary upon who is firm upon Hanafiyyah, upon true Taqleed, upon Ijma’ of the Ummah, and upon the Maslak of Ahl e Sunnah wa Jama’at that he recognises Maslak e A’la Hazrat, that Maslak e A’la Hazrat is the name of ‘Aqa’id; the name of the practices of Ahl e Sunnat; the name of following the Ijma’ of Muslims; and the name of adherence to the sahih and mu’tamad aqwal of the Madhhab upon which the Masha’ikh have issued Fatawa – abiding by this is the name of Maslak e A’la Hazrat.

Allāh ﷻ give us all the tawfeeq of justice, and that we are just upon ourselves, and we recognise Haqq and we stay firm on Haqq, and we do not talk about erroneous ikhtilaf. A lot of people in the time of A’la Hazrat were knowledgeable. Never did they bring up such words that ikhtilaf with A’la Hazrat can be done. After them, I see today that even five or ten years ago, this voice was not present. Now there are new motives for people who wish to further their desires, people talk about doing ikhtilaf. Allāh ﷻ grant us all tawfeeq and keep us firm on Maslak e Ahl e Sunnat wa Jama’at, which is called Maslak e A’la Hazrat for recognition.

وآخر دعوانا ان الحمد لله رب العالمين

Question:

Apart from in India and Pakistan, are there any other people with "Barelwi" Aqaaid (beliefs)?

Answer:

Alhamdulillah, Barelwis are not a new sect. When there was no seperation between the Deobandis and the Barelwis, Alhamdulillah what is now known as Barelwiyyat was also present then; since the time of the Sahaba, Taa'bieen and the Beloved Prophet sallAllahu alayhi wa sallam. The proof of the Aqaaid and teachings of what is now known as Barelwiyyat are found in the Holy Qur'an, in the Hadith and from the sayings and teachings of the Sahaba e Kiraam.

And even today Alhamdulillah the proponents of Tawassul (seeking intermediaries), believers in the intercession of the Beloved Prophet sallAllahu alayhi wa sallam, those who regard the Beloved Prophet sallAllahu alayhi wa sallam to have the knowledge of the unseen and that He sallAllahu alayhi wa sallam knows what happened and will happen and also that He sallAllahu alayhi wa sallam is the final Prophet, exist all around the world.

What today is known as Barelwiyyat in the Indian subcontinent, in the Arab world (the followers) are now famously known as Sufis to identify separately from the Najdis (Wahabbism).

"Listen! In this day and age, if there is any fountain-head of Ala Hazrat’s blessings and excellence, a complete representative of Ala Hazrat and a true successor of Ala Hazrat’s knowledge, wisdom, blessings and virtues, then it is Hazrat Taaj al-Shari’ah Allamah Azhari. I have seen his entire life; from childhood until now – when he was very young, I was in Bareilly studying the beginning books of Farsi (Persian) under my honourable father (Sadr al-Shari’ah) and I would sometimes carry him in my arms and walk with him here and there. Since then I have been observing him, and I have found his personality to be extremely marvellous. As soon as he became older, even then I saw such piety that many tend to diverge from after the early stages, but – all praise is for Allah – he remained with piousness.

To study, he travelled to Al-Azhar (university in Cairo, Egypt), where many students from India travel to; among them, excluding a few, many shorten their beards, however from his beard, not even one hair was shortened – This is the status of Taaj al-Shari’ah. I have personally read the commendation of Sayyidi Murshidi Mufti Azam with my own eyes; in which he writes,

"I have appointed Maulvi Akhtar Raza Khan Qadri as my deputy [qayim maqam], whosoever needs any religious edicts or any other work from me, they should obtain it from him [instead]."

If in his early life Mufti Azam appointed Taaj al-Shari’ah as his deputy, then imagine how great Taaj al-Shari'ah's excellence and blessings are now."

Be with the Truthful!

Allah says in the Holy Qur'an:

يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ ٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱللَّـهَ وَكُونُوا۟ مَعَ ٱلصَّـٰدِقِينَ

O People who Believe! Fear Allah, and be with the truthful. (9:119)

Allah did not say it is enough to have Imaan and be pious, but He says you must also be with the truthful. Follow the truthful people, stay attached to the way of the Awliya and seek advice from the truthful Ulama!

Why? You have Imaan, you have piety, but there is no guarantee that these will forever remain in your possession. Whereas, being with the truthful will provide you with that guarantee - as when Shaytaan comes and attempts to mislead you with his evil, these people (the truthful) will protect you. They will save both your Imaan and your Taqwa (piety).

This is why it is incumbent upon you all to follow the most truthful of this age, the biggest and the most steadfast upon the truth - Taajush Shari'ah (Mufti Akhtar Rida Khan). Follow him and he will protect you from the Shaytaan, whether it be in the form of human or jinn, he will save you from every form of Shaytaan.

Question: What is the ruling on consuming Seven Up, Pepsi etc. and serving them as Niyaz in Majalis and Mehfils?

Answer: Until it is proven in the Shar’i way that they contain something that is prohibited, consuming Seven Up and Pepsi cannot be declared impermissible because the default state of things is purity and permissibility.

When a specific bottle or a specific container or a specific drink is proven to contain a specific prohibited substance, then that specific drink will become Haram and impermissible; mere hearsay or the supposition that it may contain something that is prohibited is not enough for it to become impermissible nor will something be declared to be impure or impermissible on this basis. Thus, its consumption is permissible and can be kept in Niyaz etc.

However, if there is suspicion... and it has been heard about Coca Cola, Pepsi etc that these are products of Jewish companies and it is possible that they may have added something, and it has also been heard that the money or profit reaches so-called Israel – I say so-called for the reason that Isra’eel is the Laqab (appellation) and name of Hazrat Ya’qoob ‘Ala Nabiyyina wa ‘Alayhi’s Salatu wa’s Salam, and the regime and the people are not worthy of this name because they do not have belief in him – so the money is invested in that regime and in those who are the enemies of Islam therefore if Muslims can abstain then they should abstain.

Poem written in praise of Sultan e Hind Huzur Khwaja Ghareeb Nawaz alayhir rahmah, by Taajush Shari'ah Mufti Akthar Rida Khan

Khwaja-e-Hind woh Darbar hai Aala Tera;
Khusrawe dahar huwa Maangne wala Tera!

Khwaja of Hind, how lofty is your court;
The kings of the era are beggars of your court

Faiz Sultaan-e-Sakhawat hai nirala Tera;
Kabhi mehroom nahi phirta hai Mangta Tera!

King of the generous; your blessings are unique
Never does a beggar of yours wander dejected.

Teri Choukhat pe jo aaya woh bana Shah-e-Zamaa(n);
Khusrawa Dahar mein farmaan hai chalta Tera

The one who came to your doorstep, became the king of his time;
Your royal command reigns throughout the era!

Sadqa hai Khwaja-e-Ajmer ka tujhpe Akhtar
Burj-e-Rif'at me chamakta hai Sitara tera

The blessing of Khwaja is upon you Akhtar;
Your star shines bright in the highest galaxy of stars

Huzoor Taajush Shariah says regarding Qari Muslehuddin Siddiqui:

“Hazrat Allama Qari Muslehuddin Siddiqi (Allah is pleased with Him) did Bay’ah on the hands of Sadrush Shariah Allama Mufti Muhammad Amjad Ali Azmi (Allah is pleased with Him), and entered the Silsila Aaliyah Qaadriyyah Barkatiyyah Raziyyah as well as being his successor (khalifa). Similarly he has Khilafat from Huzoor Mufti Azam Hind (Allah is pleased with Him) and was the representative of Maslak-e-Ala Hazrat in his time. His services in the Khori Garden Masjid and in Karachi are worth immense praise. Also a major part of his circle is filled with youth who are Alhamdulillah attached to the Silsila Aaliyah Qaadriyyah Barkaatiyyah Razviyyah and are a major group working for Razviyyat, they love and revere Ala Hazrat and Mufti Azam e Hind (Allah is pleased with them) as well as love the family members of Ala Hazrat. Hazrat Qari Saheb loved me dearly, when I first went to Pakistan, he took out his time and accompanied me in programmes, and treated me with love. He regularly supported me and whenever I went Pakistan thereafter, I lead the first Jumah Salah of Karachi in his Masjid from then until now, under his supervision. After him Mawlana Shah Turabul Haq Saheb took the role, who is his son in law and khalifa, as well as an ardent lover of Hazrat Qari Saheb. He is the representative of Maslak e Ala Hazrat connected with Mufti Azam. Alhamdulillah, a major stamp of Razviyyat was upon Hazrat Qari Muslehuddin Siddiqi Saheb (Allah is pleased with Him), after him it is Mawlana Shah Turabul Haq Saheb who carries the work for Razviyyat.”

[Weekly Q&A, 21st May 2010]

His Demise:

On the night of Tuesday, after Isha Salah, Qari Muslehuddin Siddiqui (Allah is pleased with Him) attended an event at the Memon Masjid which was held to commemorate the Urs of Hujjatul Islam Mawlana Hamid Raza Khan (son of Ala Hazrat). Huzoor Taajush Shariah, Mufti Akhtar Raza Khan and Allama Shah Turabul Haq were also present. Qari Saheb as well as Huzoor Taajush Shariah spoke on the topic of death and the soul. The next day, Wednesday, after leading the Zuhr prayer, Qari Saheb went to his house to prepare for an event, when suddenly he was struck with a heart attack. Whilst being taken to the hospital - Qari Saheb’s soul left this mundane world. (Wednesday, 23rd March 1983 at 1630 PST (7th Jamadi al-Thani 1403H - 04:30pm)). Qari Saheb's Janazah was led by Huzoor Taajush Shariah and was attended by thousands of people.

Huzoor Taajush Shariah was asked about this incident, whether it can be used as a proof to show the Ilm e Ghayb of the Awliya, to which Taajush Shariah replied:

“What can I say regarding this matter? It can be said that whatever is going to happen Allah informs his servants. Regarding “every soul will taste death” [the verse of the Holy Quran] – I spoke on this matter and so did Qari Saheb”

Question: Nowadays, a tribulation in the form of a film is spreading rampantly. Islam, the Muslims and especially the Beloved Prophet [peace be upon him] have been blasphemed in the film, to describe which, the heart trembles. We seek refuge in Allah. Due to this, Muslims all over the world are disappointed. Protests and demonstrations are being held in many parts of the world.
We ask your eminence: What should be the role of the Ahl us-Sunnah in this case? What is the way in which we can protest? What is your message to such blasphemers?

Answer: Such blasphemers are the enemies of Allah and His Messenger [peace be upon him]. Allah [Exalted is He!] has destined for them such a wrath, the result of which, they will witness in this life itself. And painful torment is prepared for them in the Hereafter.
My advice to the Ahl us-Sunnah wal-Jama'ah is; oppose such tribulations with patience and forebearance. Express your state and anger by holding peaceful protests. Express your increased firmness on the path of the Ahl us-Sunnah. Keep all the enemies of Islam and heretics away from yourself and stay away from them as well.

Question: What is the ruling upon the one who intentionally watches the film in order to refute it, or for the sake of verification (of its reviling nature) or without any reason?

Answer: Watching it without any reason is haram [prohibited], an evil deed and the cause of a bad result. If someone watches it and carries on, the ruling upon him will be harsher. In any case, watching something haram, is haram. Refutation of the film or the verification (of its reviling nature) is not dependent upon watching it. Therefore, in my opinion, watching the film cannot be permissible. Especially, for the Ulama, it is extremely abominable and a reason for being slandered. Thus, the Ulama should listen to its contents in audio form and refute it eloquently.

The title ‘Tāj ush-Sharī’ah’

The blessed title ‘Tāj ush-Sharī’ah’ (the Crown of Sharī’ah) was given to ash-Shaykh Muhammad Akhtar Ridā (may Allah preserve him) on the 18th August 1984 at a function organised by Bazm e Raza.
